I guess if Brett wants to play for the Vikings then that's what will happen. So many people talk about him like he is the God of football, and he isn't. He hold lots of records. Yes.... career 464 touchdowns, but also 310 interceptions. So if he wants to play I will be there to watch, especially when he plays the Packers and gives the ball right to us. Brett has tarnished his own reputation. If he comes back he will probably only hurt himself more. He wants to win the Superbowl every year...if his team doesn't do well then he quits or "pretends to retire". I was a big Brett Favre fan but that has all changes. He is simply digging his own grave in regards to his reputation and football career. He will fit in well with the Vikings a team full of big headed hot shots who never seem to do much.

As a life long Viking Fan Living in Wisconsin since 1991,I personally cannot wait until Favre joins the Vikings. Packer fans hate the Bears,Lions,Dallas and anyone else who upset their dreams, but now the team they hate the most is the Vikings. They all breathed a sigh of relief when we foolishly gave away one of the best receivers in the game. They hate the Vikings and they Hate their fans even more because WE are their biggest threat to them and have been for years. Favre could have gone to the Bears or Lions who needed a great QB but No! He wants to play for the Vikings period. Ted Thompson and half the Packer fans turned their backs on him when he was having a hard time with management. They traded him, didn't want him anymore. He not only wants to play for the Vikings,He wants to Win. Not only over the Packers but to prove everyone wrong again. Favre would be the best QB Minnesota has had in years and years. Cullepper had a championship team handed to him and look how that turned out. It use to make me sick after every game I watched. Warren Moon, Randal Cunningham both older veterans of the game took our team farther than any QB since Tarkington. Years and Years of getting your hopes up only to have them dashed again and again is getting old. Alot older than Favre. For those Packer fans who think their defense will pick him apart are dead wrong,He knows your team and defense better than you do. He will be the one picking you apart because you know your defense is WEAK. This is the best hope we have have. Anyone thinking Favre couldn't make a whole season is crazy, he has started every game for years. He will open the line for our outstand RB and can actually throw the ball downfield,I repeat DOWNFIELD. TJ throws 90% of his passes less than 10 yards and to the sidelines. Favre wants to win and he wants to rub the team he gave everything to noses in the dirt! This will be the most entertaining year of football in my lifetime and yes I've been around long enough to watch My team lose 3 Superbowls(I was too younge to see the fourth loss in the 60's.) I live in Wisconsin and as I always tell everyone, "I like the Packers,I just Hate their fans!" Don't hate Favre because he WAS a Packer and WAS our enemy, not any more. Look at him as a Former Jets player comming over to our side, the winning side. Let bygones be bygones and do whats best for the team and not your personal ego this player has bruised with outstanding play for years.

Football fans, there is a reason Favre is not with the Packers. As a Packer fan, we all love the guy and he made every game exciting to watch. You didn't know what was going to happen. It was a little like street ball, and Brett could do things you would not see anywhere else. Howver, his personality is not only his greatest asset, but also his downfall. He certainly could have stayed if he was willing to share time with Rodgers. And yes, we hate the Vikings and do not like the fact that some of our players are there, but that's football. None of us really want to see Brett in purple and gold, but I'm afraid Joel is right; the Pack will pick him apart. Even though he is not the QB he was, the Pack should have figured out how to keep him for PR if nothing else. Thompson is kind of an idiot, but, I must admit, Rodgers did well. If he would have gotten hurt and couldn't play last year, Thompson would have been toast, but AAron could be the best new starter in the league and the future for the Pack. If they would have kept Favre, Rodgers would be gone. Any serious rebuilding team should not rely on an old veteran for their main QB. The veterans can play some great games once in awhile, as Brett will, but it's a young man's game. Brett could have been invaluable to coach Rodgers along, but his ego would not allow it. He has always been a little whiney and is not the sharpest knife in the drawer, and I'm sure was quite a challenge for coaches. Maybe not as bad as Moss, but you get the idea. We in Packerland love him anyhow, and if he plays for the Vikes, which I'm almost sure he will, it will be his last year.

Okay, everyone, listen up: if there is an opportunity for Favre to come to the Vikes, it would be a Godsend. Practically anyone is better than T-Joke and Rosen-something. Let me explain...

Yes, he's old. (But so is Kurt Warner....and the Cards were 30 seconds away from a Super win) Take a close look at last season. Favre nearly took the Jets, who were 4-12 the year before, to a division title. A 5 game improvement (9-7). Yes, he threw a bunch of picks, but also threw 22 TD's (remember the 6 TD game?) and threw for 3500 yards. Tavaris couldn't throw for over 2000 yards. Favre changed their offense single handedly.

Minnesota was 10-6 last year, WITH shaky QB's. What record could they have with one of the greatest of all time? Minnesota is BUILT TO WIN NOW. Remember, he'd have the best back in the league to hand off to, so he wouldn't be pressured to throw all the time.

Frankly, who cares if Brett was an arch rival for years. If Minnesota is serious about a championship, they'll have to consider Favre over.....Tavaris (gag) Jackson. ~Andre

DEAR JOEL,

YOU ARE A FOOL!
As a Viking fan, Brett at 40 is better than any QB we have now! If he really wants to play and he really wants to stick it to the the (fudge) Packers...than the Vikes are the place to be, and you can not tell me that as a Packer fan you would not be sick to your stomach to see Brett in purple!!!!!!!
It is like Randy Moss wearing a packer uniform!
I would be sick.

As a lifetime die-hard Packer fan, I think it would be great if Favre returned with the Viking's. Then he can add another dozen picks to our defenses tally. Our secondary would be drooling over the multiple opportunities they would have. And lets not forget what Dom Caper's, and our new draft picks would like to do to the old man!

You are all missing the point. We hate the "Packers", not specifically the players. What could possibly be a better insult to the packers than to use perhaps their all-time best player that they had thrown away and discarded as useless to propel ourselves to not only 2 regular season wins over our arch-rivals, but also division, conference, league championships. I know I love it every time Sharper makes a game-changing interception or Longwell kicks a game winner, but it is exponentially more exciting when it is against the packers! I would prefer someone like Cassel for longevity but someone like Favre for a year or two wouldn't be too bad either. And relying on the draft is kind of risky also-you might draft an Akili Smith or Tim Couch in the first round when all you really needed to do was wait for the 7th round to draft Tom Brady, Matt Cassel, Kurt Warner, etc. Not to mention the time spent developing (for example TJack) them. We need to spend the money for a top tier free agent.
