You have a very good point there, LoveHate. I would only want Cassell if there are no better options. Right now, Cassell is a better option than Jackson.

Thanks for the insight!

I question whether he is the right fit for the WC offense. Sure he can stand 7yds deep and survey the field and deliver the ball to open receivers, but the WC offense takes place mainly under center, utilizes the play action and short passing game.

He has played remarkably well this season! But to anoint him a Vikings starter without any serious discussion of his physical attributes or abilities that are required of the WC offense, isn't rational.

Look at all of the quarterbacks who've had success running this offense and find one that compares to M. Cassell (a long ball pocket passer).

B. Favre
J. Garcia
D. McNabb
K. Warner (stl)
M. Bulger
S. Young
J. Montana

I agree that Cassel would be a great fit for the Vikes, However, they will find a way to screw it up and let him go to another team such as the lions, Chicago or other teams willing to spend the cash on attaining a great QB. Instead they will do something less costly and pick up McNab because Chilly loves him and I can already predict another season for Chilly.(This scares me the most).

I honestly have never thought of this before. If the Vikings would be able to pick him up, I would be totally for it. That would allow us to focus on other needs in the draft this year with our (probably) high pick. Great work!
